Professionally
Dom is a highly experienced Chartered Financial Planner with an extensive career in the financial services profession. He had several roles at Friends Provident, then spent five years at Edmund Gibbs Financial Services (now Shaw Gibbs) as an Independent Financial Adviser specialising in pensions and retirement planning. He and Jonathan Hunt set up Expert Wealth Management together in 2004.
He specialises in helping successful business owners and professionals plan their retirement, achieve financial peace of mind and confidence so that they can live life to the full. He helps them make progress on key goals, avoid mistakes, and stay on track.
Personally
Dom is married to Jane, and they have three children. Alex, lives in Hobart, Tasmania with his wife, Darshini. Scarlett, who lives in Derby with her husband Ciaran, works as an interior designer and created the design for our office. Joel, the youngest, has recently moved out and is planning to travel with his girlfriend in early 2026.
Dom and Jane are also looking forward to becoming grandparents in January 2026, with both Scarlett and Darshini expecting.
Outside of family life, Dom is a passionate cyclist who loves riding the iconic Grand Tour climbs across France, Spain, and Italy.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:
Riding my bike up some massive cols in the Alps, eating local food in a French restaurant at the foot of a mountain and cooling off in a French mountain lake.
My favourite holiday destination is:
Ooh, difficult to choose between Australia, French Alps or the Pyrenees
The best gift I ever received is:
A bike – my mum would never let me have a racing (road) bike back in the day. When she passed away and I received a legacy from her, the first thing I did was buy a new road bike!
When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:
Anything with custard
If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:
Eating toasted banana bread at Gusto Espresso Bar in Bondi Beach
If I could be any fictional character, I would be:
Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Alec Guinness of course)
My pet peeve is:
People who always blame someone or something else rather than being responsible and making change happen.
