Jonathan Hunt

CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER

Jon is a highly qualified Chartered and Certified Financial Planner with over 30 years’ experience.  He loves working with clients who are passionate about getting the most out of life and feels his job is to support them living life to the fullest.

Jon is married to Nancy with two children. Together they set up The Nasio Trust, a UK registered charity, which supports disadvantaged young people in Kenya and the UK. In his ‘spare’ time he is a mountain addict who has climbed Kilimanjaro six times, he loves running half marathons and sometimes gets a chance to fit in a round of golf or two.

Jonathan was one of the first Financial Planners in the Oxfordshire area to achieve the prestigious Chartered Financial Planning award. His company, Expert Wealth Management was the first financial planning firm in Oxfordshire to achieve the Chartered Financial Planning firms award. This requires each director to hold individual chartered status, all members of the firm to be registered with the Personal Finance Society and the firm is required to uphold the highest ethical and profession standards. Jonathan also holds the Certified Financial Planning (CFP®) award which requires an in-depth knowledge and experience in Financial Planning. This award is recognised around the world as a benchmark in financial Planning. In order to gain great grounding in the world of investment management Jonathan decided to embark on achieving the Investment Management Certificate (IMC®) and Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®). Passing both on his first attempt which is no mean feat. Each year over 50,000 candidates worldwide attempt CFA® Level I with only about 35% of them being successful.

Jonathan’s mission is to bring clarity and meaning to the complex world of financial planning. To him this means helping clients understand the things that are most important to them in life, assisting them to create a vision for their future and facilitating the conversation that allows them to make key steps making their vision happen. The financial planning aspect of his work brings the vision and the finance together. Jonathan loves working with clients who are passionate about getting the most out of life and feels his job is to support them living life to the fullest.

To help become more effective in his mission, Jonathan studied with the Kinder Institute of Financial Life Planning, understanding and learning the skills required to help people achieve their dreams. Jonathan is a Registered Life Planner (RLP®) and has become a Master of Life Planning.

Jonathan says: “Financial Planning done right is not just about the money! The money is only something that helps us facilitate the dreams we have in life. We should chase our dreams first and the money second.”

In his free time Jonathan loves the outdoors, spending time climbing mountains, walking and cycling. He has climbed Kilimanjaro six times raising over £100,000 for the children in Kenya. Discover more here
