When we see elite athletes and teams of all disciplines achieving their goals, whether that is winning Olympic Gold, a world championship, the Premier League, the Six Nations and so forth, we’re often watching the culmination of many years of dedication, sacrifice and training.

We very rarely get a glimpse behind the scenes at the dawn training runs, technical skills practice, or altitude training camps. This is the routine, often boring and repetitive work that has to be done to put the individual or team in the best position to achieve success.

What we see on our TV is the ‘iceberg illusion’ of winning, yet most of the work leading to success happens out of sight, below the waterline.

This analogy is especially true when it comes to the due diligence and governance of the EWM portfolios that we all rely on to grow our wealth and preserve the purchasing power of our hard-earned savings.

What you see is the portfolio returns on your statements; what you don’t see is the many hours of research, analysis and reporting that happens behind the scenes.

We have included the Client Advisory Board for May and November as we very much hope to restart this valuable initiative once we are able to.
